Macro Photography
Yesterday I received a new toy for my camera – a set of macro extension rings. I found this thing really exciting as it opened a whole new world for me. All the usual things suddenly seemed to show up in a brand new light.
I have never really been a fan of macro photography and I guess it was always the reason why I never put my hands on it but once I have tried it there is no way my camera equipment will exclude this beautiful and playful toy.
The macro rings are cheap to get (about £5.00 from eBay) and easy to use though tripod is a must as the rings “steal” the light. I used the extension tubes in combination with an 18-200 Sigma (it’s a 3.5-5.6 so there is no top of the range equipment involved).
I used various combinations of daylight, continuos bulb and off camera flash (a reflector also can be very useful).
